Expert Answers about Freightliner Tire Inflator

  • How to Avoid Tire Blowouts On a Trailer
  • Fred, there are a couple of things you can do to avoid frequent blowouts on your trailer, but most of the time blowouts come from an overloaded trailer/an under inflated tire. So, you're going to want to avoid loading the trailer past it's max capacity and keep the tires inflated to the max PSI indicated on the tire. Under inflated tires would cause excessive heat build up on the side wall, which would lead to a blowout.

  • Are Castle Rock Tires Bad Tires As Indicated By Outside Reviews
  • Castle Rock Tires like the # LHCK301 are perfectly fine trailer tires. I am aware of the stories people have, primarily with blowouts. However, in many cases tire failure was likely due to poor maintenance. Could it have been the Castle Rock tire? Sure, any tire out there is subject to problems and nothing is perfect. More than likely the problems you have read about are due to poor inflation, exceeding the speed rating of the tire, or overloading the trailer. This is also why many of...

  • Should the Same Two 4.80-12 Tires Have the Same Outer Diameter.
  • Assuming you have the same two 4.80-12 tires, they should have the same outer diameter. It sounds like the reason for the difference was the different psi in each tire. Once you have filled both to the max psi, the diameter should be identical. The only other reason they might vary is if it is two different tires. For example, the Kenda # AM10062 has an outer diameter of 20.5" when inflated and the Taskmaster # TT48012C has an outer diameter of 20.63" even though both are 4.80-12 tires.

  • Can Dexstar Conventional Trailer Wheel Handle 80 PSI
  • What actually will limit the PSI on the Dexstar wheel part # AM20514 is the valve stem so as long as you go with one that can handle higher pressure like the part # AM20906 you'd be fine as this can handle over 100 psi.

  • Air Compressor Kit For Air Bag Helper Springs On a 2021 Ford F-150 That Can Be Used To Fill Tires
  • I recommend installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs # AL67PD on your 2021 Ford F-150 3.5l EcoBoost. These have an internal jounce bumper that will help to reduce bouncing while you are driving both on and off-road. For controlling the air pressure in the air springs as well as being able to inflate your tires I recommend using the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000EZ. This has a dual outlet allowing you to connect the air lines for the air springs...

  • What Size Tire Does Yakima Easy Rider Trailer Use
  • Hey James, so the Yakima Easy Rider trailer part # Y08129 comes with a 5.30-12 trailer tire size so for a replacement I would recommend going with the part # TTWSF53012C since it has the higher speed rating of 81 mph. This tire size is only available in bias ply which would work fine if under inflated to get around in sand to spread out the contact with the ground. We don't have any information on if this would work with a larger tire size though although I am sure there's a chance one...

  • Recommended 90° Valve Extender and Inflation Hose Kit for a 2021 Freightliner S2RV Chassis
  • I'm not seeing where it states you can't use the Wheel Masters 4-Hose Inflation Kit - 16" to 19-1/2" # WM8001 with your 2021 Freightliner S2RV chassis, but in any case I'd just recommend using the Wheel Masters 2-Hose Inflation Kit # WM8002 with the Wheel Masters Tire Pressure Valve Extenders # WM802990. These hose inflators will work fine with your Freightliner S2RV chassis, measure 13" long, and the 90° extenders have an overall length of 1 1/2" with a 1" long bend. These sound like...

  • Will The Wheel Masters 4-Hose Inflation Kit # WM8001-135 Fit A 2018 Winnebago Vista 29VE
  • Hey Chris, From what I can find your 2018 Winnebago Vista 29VE has 19.5" wheels so the Wheel Masters 4-Hose Inflation Kit # WM8001-135 would work. Based on the photo the 135 degree bend is likely going to be the best fit but you might have to play around with it to get it perfect. These inflation kits can easily be installed at your home so you aren't wasting money on labor. I've attached a short video below where Dave will walk you through the installation process.

  • Weight Rating and Max PSI for the Lionshead Steel Dual Trailer Wheel
  • The Taskmaster Steel Dual Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6" - 8 on 6-1/2 - 4.75" Pilot - Silver # LHHA420 is rated for a max carrying capacity of 3,500 lbs per wheel. I reached out to my contact at Lionshead and the included valve stem is rated for 110 psi when filled cold. The most popular option and my recommendation is the Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range G # TTWPRG235R16 which is rated for 3,860 lbs when used with dual tires and has a speed rating of 81 mph maximum

  • Are Two Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tires with 14" Black Wheel OK For 2,800 lb Trailer
  • Hi Christopher, Thanks for the nice words, and the combined weight capacity is 3,520 lbs for two of the Loadstar ST205/75D14 Bias Trailer Tire with 14" Black Wheel # AM3S451. Since your trailer is only 2,800 lbs when loaded, you definitely aren't overloading the tires and you have the right set. You do want to make sure you inflate the tires to the max 50 psi as underinflation can cause tires to wear more on the inside. The other possibility is your trailer suspension is out of alignment...

  • Recommended Smaller Replacement Tires for a Pontoon Boat
  • Steven, the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" Galvanized Wheel # AM3H340 you're looking at are 20.8" tall when inflated. So if a 19" tire would give you 2" of clearance this tire will give you nearly 4" of additional clearance which should alleviate the issue. A 20" tire like # AM1HP52 would be able to carry the 1600 lb weight capacity you're needing, but these tires aren't going to work with your 4x12 wheels. What you're going to have to do is swap your tires out with an...

  • Can I Manually Inflate My Airbags Incase of an Emergency if My Air Compressor Fails?
  • Yes, you can install the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System item # AL74000EZ and still inflate your air bags manually in case of an emergency. You would need to install the Union Tee for 1/4" Tubing item # F3025-1 on each air bag line if you are running a dual path set up and keep the Schrader valves installed on the Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Springs item # AL57289.

  • Replacement For 8.75 -16.5 Trailer Tires & Wheel With 6 on 5-1/2" Bolt Pattern For Boat Trailer
  • Hi Eric, First, thanks so much for all that detail. I took a look and you wouldn't be able to use your 8.75 -16.5 tires with that wheel, as they need one that is 16-1/2" x 6-3/4". That's a pretty odd size, so you'll need new tires to go with your new rim. When fully inflated, size 8.75 -16.5 tires are 29.5" in diameter and 8.7" wide, and the closest equivalent are 225/75-15 tires, which are 28.4" in diameter and 8.9" wide. It looks like you need a load range E tire (2,860 lb capacity)...

  • Recommended Air Bag Helper Springs and On Board Compressor For a 2021 Ford F-350 4X4 SRW
  • I recommend using the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Springs w/ Internal Bumpers # AL35FJ for your 2021 Ford F-250. This is a no drill installation, the kit uses stainless steel roll pans, air lines and hardware to ensure long life. The 5,000lb capacity bags will use from 5-100psi and include a lifetime warranty. If you have the Tremor model this will not work for you and I will need to give you another recommendation. The Air Lift Compressor System # AL27DQ will allow you to control...

  • Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL and Air Compressor With Tank for 2022 Ford F-350 With Tremor Package
  • The correct Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL kit for your 2022 Ford F-350 Tremor is the # AL55FJ. However, these air bags do not fit models with dual rear wheels. They will provide you with 7,500 lbs of load-leveling capacity and keep you level while towing or hauling. Unless you really want to go with Air Lift, I actually recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label # F95FV instead. These have a superior construction which I think you'll appreciate since you're already looking for high capacity...

  • Using TPMS Flow Through Sensors And Valve Extenders On A 2024 Ford F-450
  • Hi John, TST Flow Through Sensors # TST-507-FT-S2 are approximately 2-1/8" long so they do add a bit to the overall length of the coming from the valve. TST likely told you that the sensor has to be directly after the valve to avoid any movement with the sensor that could damage it or the valve and to help prevent any false readings. With valve extenders like the Wheel Masters # WM8001-135 you'll be able to tuck the excess cable up since you'd be mounting the end of the extender to the...

  • Help With Adjusting The Air Pressure On AirLift 1000 Air Springs
  • Due to the very low capacity of the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60732 this is why the pressure changes so quickly. There is not much you can do since you do not want to use an on board compressor System # AL25980 you might think about adding an inline air pressure gauge that you can find locally that way you can more slowly let air out by more lightly depressing the air valve with a pen.

  • Best Suspension Enhancement to Level 2017 Ram 1500 With 2 Inch Lift
  • By far the best way to ensure a level ride as you are towing with your 2017 Ram 1500 with a 2 inch lift is using air bags. They allow you to set the psi to the exact amount you need in order to get a level ride as opposed to jounce springs which can compress so you aren't as level as possible. The correct air bags and spacer for your '17 Ram 1500 is the following: - Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL57365 - Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers for LoadLifter 5000 and 7500XL...

  • Air Bag Fit on 2021 Ford F-350 Cab & Chassis
  • I checked with the manufacturers and found there was one option for air bags that fit your 2021 Ford F-350 cab and chassis, which is from Firestone: - Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2176 These will fit so long as you have at least 7-1/2 inches from the outside of the frame to the inside of the tire, so I do recommend verifying that. These are 4,800 lb capacity air bags, as there isn't an option for the 7,500 lb capacity bags you mentioned. That said, in regards to quality it...
